Keep it Short, but Don’t Be Shallow: How Web Design Trends Are Changing the Way We Write Content
October 21, 2014 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Register now for my October 21 evening workshop “How Web Design Trends Are Changing the Way We Write Content” and learn how today’s web design trends are affecting how you write your web content. These days writers are pushed to write less text as images and icons communicate more. But can we write less without making our content shallow and ordinary? This workshop will focus on the design trends that are changing the way we write web content.
You’ll learn how to write more actionable web content for these four design practices.
- Infinite scrolling, where content is loaded continuously as the user scrolls down
- “Sharelines,” or content written expressly for readers to share via Twitter or other social media channels
- Deliberately positioning content below “the fold”
- Oversize “infographic-style” typography
Using examples of excellent content written within the four design trends, you will learn more about the issue of “short vs long” content, and get vital tips on how to write content that fits today’s trends without compromising quality.
Hosted by OmniStudio and IABC – DC Metro, this workshop will give you the chance to network with other content professionals.
