Subject: Office Plants

Our Office of Environmental Safety has become aware of office plants that are not being properly maintained by their owners.  While there is no doubt that plants add to the office atmosphere, lack of care has resulted in an infestation, a safety violation!  Please follow the guidelines below to avoid these problems.

  • Keep no more than two plants in your office.  Remove plants that require higher maintenance.
  • Do not overwater your plants!  Office plants do not need as much water as plants in other environments.
  • Check your plants often to make sure they are healthy.

Owners of neglected or unhealthy plants will be cited and their plants removed.  For assistance in removing plants,  contact the Office of Environmental Safety via the Intranet.

Our office and the Office of Building Management are committed to ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.   Please care for your plants!
