I’ve just completed filming my first Lynda.com course, and I am on a work-related high. (Really.) It was a great experience. After months of working on the scripts and storyboards for my course, How to Write Customer Service Email, I got to fly out to southern California to film it. The course should be available sometime in late March or early April. I’ll let you know when it’s live.
Just to give you a “peek behind the curtain,”
here are 10 awesome things I got to do:
1. Wear the same red dress several days in a row.
2. Get airbrushed. They airbrush your face, or at least they airbrushed mine.
3. Have Pam do my hair and makeup.
4. Read off a teleprompter. It’s harder than it looks.
5. Have someone say “action” and use this clicker thing.
6. Get this shirt. | |
7. Eat as many snacks as I wanted, at any time of the day, except when filming.
8. Be supported by a team of brilliant producers, filmmakers, content specialists, and set designers.
9. Join a faculty of excellent Lynda.com authors.
10. Develop a curriculum I really believe in, which will help customer service agents develop excellent writing skills. |

This is the coolest thing ever. Thanks for sharing. For sure let me know when your “movie” is released. Next maybe a sidewalk star in Hollywood?
I’m so excited for you and I can’t wait to see your course!
